Luis A. Perez, DDS, MS
Luis A. Perez, DDS, MS, attended the Central University of Venezuela (Universidad Central de Venezuela), graduating in 1994. Following his general dental training, Dr. Perez worked as a general dentist for 4 years as well as a clinical coordinator for “El Valle” internship at the Central University of Venezuela.
In 2001 he received a Certificate and a Master of Science Degree in Periodontology at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry.
Dr. Perez is a board certified periodontist.
Immediately after completion of his graduate training, Dr. Perez obtained the highest recognition for a specialist in the field of Periodontology and is a board certified periodontist. This is a certification that is awarded after rigorous examination by a panel of internationally respected peers and awarded Diplomate status by the American Board of Periodontology.
He serves as a clinical instructor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Michigan, and is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including American Academy of Periodontology, Midwest Society of Periodontology, Michigan Periodontal Association, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association and Genesee District Dental Society (Past member of the house of Delegates and Alternate).
Dr. Perez lectures nationally and internationally and has published several articles in Periodontics and dental implants.
In addition, Dr. Perez is an Oral examiner for the Michigan Periodontal license (elected by his peer Periodontists at the Michigan Periodontal Association), lectures nationally and internationally and has published several articles in Periodontics and dental implants in prestigious journals like Journal of Periodontology, Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology and Endodontics and International Magazine of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Perez maintains a practice limited to Periodontics and Dental Implants in Flint, Michigan. He is licensed to deliver intravenous sedation for patient comfort.
