Tooth exposure for Orthodontics

When your tooth or teeth is not erupted. Your orthodontist refers you to have the tooth surgically exposed. An incision is made and the tissue is reflected and bone removed as necessary to expose the crown for future orthodontic movement.

Many times a bracket or a chain is placed on the tooth exposed to help your orthodontist move the tooth into the desired position.
